I have noticed that there is a misconception with some AS 350 operators
Complying with SB 63.00.09 ( long chip plug in MGB) does not give a five hundred (500) hr extension to the 350A32-0100-10 (Timken rotorshaft) epicyclic, the extension is only for the 350A32-0110-00 (Four contact rotorshaft) epicyclics.
Overshooting the TBO of the epicyclic will void Your CofA and most likely get You in deep doggie doo with the local Airworthyness inspectors.
I imported an AS350B2 from the US into Canada with epicyclic on its third run. The previous operator in the US was on an extension argeement with American Eurocopter with the blessing of France. We tried to see if they would allow us to continue the experiment but they decided that if any of the original 15 subject epi's changed ownership they would be removed from the program. I am curious if anyone has any further information on how the 3rd run program was progressing and if they have any updates?
