Two British nationals have been killed in a helicopter crash in Majorca, the Foreign Office has said.
A spokeswoman said the accident happened today but gave no further details, adding that formal identification needed to take place.
"We have offered consular assistance to the family," she said.
Local police said the helicopter crashed between Andratx and Estellecs on the south-west tip of the island, according to the AFP news agency.
Jose Luis Montoya, a spokesman for Majorca's Emergency Services, was quoted by the Daily Telegraph as saying: "We received several calls at around 11.10 AM from witnesses saying they had seen a helicopter crash down in flames in a wooded area.
"Firefighters, paramedics and police officers were immediately sent to the scene."
The helicopter had been flying over wooded terrain in Collde Sa Gramola.
