Hello ,
My name is Cédric i'm currently 17 and i live in Begluim.
In 2 years i graduate in with a electro-mechanic diploma ( high school ) .
I had a few questions about the life and study of a helicopter pilot.
-If i wanna fly in Europe i need a JAA certification ?
-Does the study involves a lot math or any specific math ?
-What are the best school to learn ?
-How long does a average study takes ?
-Is it hard to get a job as pilot ?
-And most important whats the price tag ?

i cant help with much but from personal research i know the price tag...
to get to the Flight Instructor stage, you are looking around £70'000. If you claim VAT back its about £55k i think. _________________ Thanks for your help, Tony
-If i wanna fly in Europe i need a JAA certification ? Yes JAA is a must for a european career. For pleasure just get a JAA or FAA private licence.
-Does the study involves a lot math or any specific math ? Dont worry about the study, with your high school behind you, you will be fine.
-What are the best school to learn ? There isnt a best school.! If you want to get the JAA Integrated ATPL(H) done Quick check out http://www.heli.com
-How long does a average study takes ? A private licence can be done in as little as 3 weeks or 3 years! Depending how often you take lessons!
-Is it hard to get a job as pilot ? Its all about who you know! Get netwroking! Your at an ideal age to get a part time job in a hotel or heli port that has lots of heli visitors! Get to know people! If you want to fly a twin-turbine machine in europe, you might need the Instrument rating. Most people just get there PPL, CPL and FI and work as an instructor / charter pilot for your first job.
-And most important whats the price tag ? Look at flight school websites to get exact prices. To make a living out of it, you could build a house for the price its gonna cost you put it that way!!

i thought about joining the army but what i've heard its pretty hard to get in for helicopter pilot but i'm not sure .
